OGame

OGame is one of the leading strategic space simulation games available on the web. Your mission is intergalactic conquest. Following a standard strategy gaming concept, each player starts out with a small world and expands through diplomacy, economy and military actions. Resources are crucial but scarce in this game, so most of the time you will be fighting for those minerals. The game itself is entertaining for beginners but it gets really time consuming when your empire becomes relatively large in order to keep up with the big boys. Nevertheless, OGame is a popular online game and you can expect to find lots of tips and cheats. Sign up now in one of the 30+ universes or visit the forum and wiki for more details.

Pentacore: The Lords of Edges

Pentacore is a rare MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) that is developed using Macromedia Flash. Its theme is fantasy based sorceries. Players navigate through a visually appealing 3D world on web browsers as sorcerers attempting to rule their own personalized castle and army of monsters. There are a total of 10 versants, or simply mountain valleys, in which sorcerers can gather and build a strong community to fight enemies and solve quests. The game differentiates two groups of players, the free users and the subscribers, using the terms inhabitants and citizens respectively. The latter group has a competitive advantage of premium features. Meanwhile, here is a cool video presentation of the game.

The Kingdom of Loathing

It is said that you don't judge a book by its cover. The turn-based RPG Kingdom of Loathing a.k.a KoL is more like "don't judge the game by its graphics". Indeed, despite the horrible graphics KoL displays, the game itself is highly addictive. Most of this text-based browser game revolve around quests and adventures in which players must accomplish in order to advance to the next stages. The site creators, Jick and Mr. Skullhead from Asymmetric Publications, have also added nice features such as its own Kingdom of Loathing Shoutcast radio station and of course, a forum. While the site does not charge any form of subscription fees just yet, it survives by donations and selling unique merchandises. Unfortunately due to its growing popularity, KoL does not escape from spoiler websites such as this, but some good things do come out from it, like this huge fansite.
